Phil is a leading technical architect with over 15 years in the profession. His specialty is in the areas of general building detailing, exterior envelope design, new materials and methods and specification writing. Phil is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional - two of his projects recently achieved LEED Silver certification.


While at SOM (Skidmore, Owings & Merrill) San Francisco Phil worked as a Lead Studio Technical Coordinator. In this role he was pivotal to the design development on a variety of large and complex building projects in both the US and in China - including the International Terminal at the San Francisco International Airport, the University of California San Francisco, Mission Bay Housing Project, and the New Beijing Poly Plaza. Having spent much time in the field overseeing the construction of his projects in China, Phil has developed an intimate knowledge of Chinese fabrication practices and business culture as well as many important Chinese sourcing contacts.
