Kate is both an architect and a structural engineer. This rare combination of disciplines is crucial to the holistic and integrated design approach the Parco team is taking. Having worked as a designer and project manager in both fields for over fifteen years she is now sought after for her exceptional process engineering skills often times helping other firms work out the complex matrix of variables encountered on large projects including budget analysis, value engineering, critical path scheduling, manpower allocation, design coordination, construction sequencing, logistics and mobilization.

She has experience on a wide range of project types from commercial and institutional to residential. Kate is also an Associate Professor at the California College of the Arts where she orchestrates course content, structure and staffing for the entire building technology curriculum. Kate is an expert on digital fabrication and digital BIM (building information modeling) systems, also critical to Parco’s success.

In contrast to her experience on larger more complex projects she has also owned and managed her own architecture and engineering practice focused on single family residential. During that period she demonstrated her uncanny facility around construction cost estimating, her projects typically coming in within 2% of her very earliest cost estimates – 10% is considered quite good by dedicated cost estimating professionals.
